The Changeville Music Festival is a downtown music and arts festival featuring local and national artists united by a passion for social change. The Festival took place in downtown Gainesville at local venues such as Bo Diddley Plaza, The Wooly, The Atlantic, and High Dive.
The Florida Gators held 14 spring practices prior to their annual Orange and Blue game. 7 of the practices were open to the public and gave fans an up close look at the team as it prepares for the 2019 season.

The 2019 Florida Relays took place March 28-30th showcasing some of the top talent in both High School and College from around the state and nation. In the Final relay, The UF mens team took second place, narrowly losing to Iowa by .15 of a second.
Flipturn, a five-piece indie rock garage band from Gainesville, Florida, plays at local venues across the state as well as embarking on their second “ Oh, To Be Young” tour. The Band is comprised of Dillon Basse (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Tristan Duncan (lead guitar), Madeline Jarman (bass), Taylor Allen (synth), and Adrian Walker (drums).
The 2019 Florida Gymnastics team finished with a record of 17-5 and were crowned SEC champions. The team was led by senior Alicia Boren who won 1st place in the National Championship for the Floor Routine.
The UF Men’s Basketball team worked through some growing pains throughout the year but ended the year by making the NCAA March Madness tournament and beating Nevada in the Round of 64 before losing to Michigan 64-49. The team was led by Seniors KeVaughn Allen and Kevarrius Hayes as well as Freshmen Keyontae Johnson, Andrew Nembhard, and Noah Locke.
Yung Garzi, a rapper from Miami, Florida and former UF Student, takes the stage at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center opening for 21 Savage. Garzi performed a lot of his new unreleased music and told fans “ I know you don’t know the words but let’s dance.”
Rapper 21 Savage performs Monday April 15th at the Stephen C. O’ Connell to a crowd of about 6000 people. The performance was originally scheduled for Feb. 27th but was rescheduled due to Savage’s detainment by ICE. Savage performed hits such as “savage mode,” “rockstar,” and “a lot.”
The Orange and Blue Debut symbolizes the end of Spring Football. The Orange and Blue teams faced off in The Swamp and the Orange team won 60-35. The game was meant to show fans what to expect in 2019 as well as bring enjoyment to both players and fans.
The Gator Baseball team has struggled mightily in 2019 as many of last years starters graduated or were drafted. While the team has had its issues throughout the season many of the freshman are developing quickly providing hope for seasons to come.
Rapper Ty Dolla $ign opened for Walk The Moon at the 2018 UF Homecoming Gator Growl. The Concert kicked off Homecoming weekend as the Gators faced the Missouri Tigers the next day.
The UF Softball team is led by Seniors Kelly Barnhill and Amanda Lorenz. Barnhill and Lorenz were recently drafted 1st and 2nd overall in the 2019 NPF Draft.
The Big Orange Festival was put on by the Reitz Programming Board and featured Ocean Park Standoff and Noah Cyrus. Cyrus headlined the show and played hits such as “Live or Die” and “All Falls Down.”
Local Gainesville band The Hails played their final Gainesville show on April 19th. The band of UF students released their latest sing in April and are moving to Miami to further their musical career.
Gator Walk is one of the oldest traditions at the University of Florida as the Players greet and give high-fives to fans as they walk into Ben Hill Griffin Stadium to prepare for the upcoming game.
Cage The Elephant played a free concert at Curtis Hixon Waterfront park in Tampa, Florida to kick off the 2019 NHL playoffs. The band played for about an hour and performed songs from their new album “Social Cues” to give fans a taste of what’s to come.
Several Florida Gators got their chance to shine in front of hundreds of NFL scouts and coaches. Participants of the Pro Day completed the High Jump, the 40- Yard Dash, the Bench Press, and Positional drills in order to try and raise their stock before the 2019 NFL Draft.
The Florida Gators faced off with the Michigan Wolverines in the Peach Bowl at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. The Gators emerged victorious led by stellar performances by Cornerback Chauncey Gardner-Johnson and Quarterback Feleipe Franks.
UF and FSU faced off on November 24th and the Gators defeated the Seminoles 41-14. The win for UF snapped a 4 game losing against FSU and ended FSU’s 36 year bowl streak. The Gators finished the season 10-3 while the Noles ended 5-7.
Walk The Moon Headlined the 2019 UF Homecoming Gator Growl. The Band performed hits including “One Foot” and “Shut Up And Dance” to a packed crowd of UF students at Flavet Field.
